One thing I really like about summer is a summer thunderstorm. The non-destructive kind, of course. Even better is when a shield of several hours of steady rain showers follow. I took these shots of an approaching storm yesterday. It was preceeded by a rather ominous-looking gust front.

My apologies for the lack of blog entries over the past couple of weeks. I still have some client orders to complete, and the last few of Jason and Shelly’s wedding photos to edit. After that, I fully expect to be back to regular blogging!
The boys have recently been on a Napoleon Dynamite kick. They’ve watched it three times just this week. I have to admit to sitting down and watching it along with them because, well…it’s just flipping funny everytime!
So anyway, earlier this evening the neighbor boy and his friend (high school age boys) were next door in the driveway playing basketball. Corey mentions how the friend looks like Napoleon Dynamite (which he totally did…glasses and curly hair). Trevor thought this was funny, so Corey figured it a good idea to tell Trevor NOT to go over there and say anything about the Napoleon Dynamite comment (Trevor is always hanging around Andrew and his friends when they are outside).
Fast forward about 10 minutes. The boys and I are climbing in the car to go run some errands and Trevor says, “Hey Mom! I just asked Andrew’s friend if he was Napoleon Dynamite!” Me: “I hope you’re joking.” Trevor: “No! I really asked him! He said he’s not!” All I could do was let out my usual ‘what will this kid do to embarass me next’ sigh and begin to back out of the driveway. As I catch sight of Andrew and his friend still shooting hoops next door, I immediately notice that his friend’s previously curly hair was now flattened to his head! Coincidence?!? I think not!!!
I just got us the heck outta there as fast as I could before I died of utter embarassment. KIDS!!!!!
Here’s a preview from another session that was rescheduled due to the crazy, rainy May weather! It was worth the wait, though, because the day of the shoot was gorgeous and perfect for a photo shoot. The “B” family was a lot of fun to work with, and we got lots of exercise as we walked the campus at Dickinson College!

No doubt you’ve been told more than once to stop and smell the roses, right? Well don’t forget to stop and hang in a tree every once in awhile, too! It could be fun!
This was one of a handful of sessions that had to be rescheduled due to the extended period of rainy weather we experienced throughout of the month of May. Little A and J were total cuties and the whole family was a joy to work with!

Sticky Announcement!
I am not neglecting the blog! I am just insanely busy right now! Truth is, I was temporarily laid off from my full-time job (for about a month) and was called back sooner than expected. This is normally a good thing, but it’s also bad in that I scheduled wayyy more photo sessions this month than what I normally would have due to the lay-off. SOOOOO…this leaves me with the problem of having way too much photo proofing and editing to do within the time I now have available to me for such. This basically equates to little sleep and putting off anything and everything that can possibly be put off for a week or two…like blogging, unfortunately. 
I’ll do my best to post a few sneak peaks from my sessions, though!
Also, I will be unable to accept any further sessions now until July. Thank you for understanding!
On Saturday, we attended Army Heritage Day at Carlisle’s Army Heritage Center. The boys really enjoyed seeing the displays and re-enactments from the French & Indian War times up through and including the Civil War, World Wars I and II, Desert Storm and Iraq and Afghanistan. It was especially neat to see the parachute demonstration by the 101st Airborne.

These kiddos were a lot of fun to photograph! At 11 days old, baby “M” was wide awake for his entire session! He was SO good, though, and was very content no matter what basket or prop I plopped him into.
Big sister “E” was reluctant to be photographed at first, but then she quickly entered into “show-off” mode and was hamming it up all over the place:

The little guy had finally had it when it was time for a few sibling shots! I still got some cute ones, though. Here she was telling him “Shhhhh!” It was too cute!
Happy Mother’s Day! I came downstairs this morning to find a little surprise on the dining room table. I have been eyeing this set of dishes at Target for what seems like forever now. They were even on sale about two months ago and I have NO idea why I didn’t buy them then. I mean, come on…they were on SALE! Hello!!! Anyway, they made for a nice Mother’s Day surprise! Now I wonder if I can actually keep my dining room table this clean and uncluttered?!?
I’m thinking I need to go out now and pick up the matching mugs and serving bowl, along with some nice placemats that match the candle in the center of the table! What do you think?!?
